Simple and Sophisticated

SimpleSpin™ is primarily a manual control, "set and forget" device. Define the perfect look for your lighting effect by precisely trimming the speed control knob and then simply power the SimpleSpin™ up and down from the mains. This is especially convenient in venues where more sophisticated DMX control is either unavailable or unnecessary. In instances where varying speed control is needed, SimpleSpin™ can be plugged into a dimmer and controlled by a lighting desk. Configured this way, the speed of rotation will increase or decrease as the level on the dimmer goes up or down.

Infinity™ Gobo Animation Device

Rosco's new gobo animation device offers superb kinetic lighting effects combined with simplicity of use and low cost.

The Infinity™ device affixes to the gel frame of virtually any spotlight. You can choose from among 11 animation disks listed in the Rosco catalog and web site. Affix one of the disks to the device, place a steel or glass gobo in the gate, plug the Infinity into an outlet or dimmer and watch magic appear on your stage or studio. The Infinity is equipped with on-board control of the Infinity Disk speed and direction, as well as an on/off switch.

The Infinity Disks are stainless steel disks that are 16.5" (42 cm) in diameter and are available in eleven different etched pattern designs. The disks, being out of the focal plane, allows sharp focus on the gobo in the pattern slot while the rotating disk animates the effect of the gobo. The effect of rotating these disks creates moving effects such as fire, water or leaves. The key to the system is to choose the right gobo for the base effect.

The Infinity™ device is entirely self-contained. You won't need additional controllers or power supplies. It will fit the gel frame of luminaries such as Altman 1-K and any fixture with 7-1/2" gel frame. It is also supplied with an adaptor plate for Source-4 sized fixtures or any luminary with a 6-1/4" gel frame. It is also supplied with a user specified Infinity Disk.

The Infinity fits the gel frame of virtually all the spotlights in use today. It is entirely self contained and does not require additional controllers or power supplies.

Rosco DMX DC Controller

The Rosco DC/DMX Controller provides power and speed control for the Double Gobo Rotator, Single Gobo Rotator and Animation Motor Units. The controller is engineered to offer remote access of Rosco's effects equipment via DMX 512.

DC/DMX Controller will operate 2 Double Rotators or 1 Double Rotator and 2 Single Rotators or 2 Animation Motor Units and 2 Single Rotators.

On-board DMX addressing.

DMX Controllers can be daisy-chained via 5-pin DMX cable.

Connections

The unit is fitted with two 4-pin female XLR receptacles for controlling up to 4 motors per unit. Each connector carries 2 channels of control so a Splitter Cable is required when using more than two effects. Also, two 5-pin DMX receptacles are fitted for DMX in and out.

DMX Operation

In DMX mode, the DC controller responds to eight consecutive channels of DMX data, the start address being set on the front panel. Each of the four DMX Controller outputs are controlled by two DMX channels. On the lighting console, each effect appears as two channels on your light board, one for forward and one for reverse.

Preset Operation

In the absence of a suitable DMX signal the four rotary switches on the front of the unit will allow the levels of the four output channels to be preset. Each channel can be assigned a speed on an arbitrary 0 - 9 scale.

I-Cue Intelligent Mirror

The Rosco I-Cue Intelligent Mirror allows you to use your spotlights with much greater flexibility and control. The major function of the I-Cue is the ability to re-position the beam of light so a single spotlight in a fixed position can illuminate dozens of different locations.

The Rosco I-Cue has onboard DMX, which means that control and direction of the mirror -- and the beam it reflects -- is available through your lighting control system. The industry standard DMX protocol assures accurate and repeatable beam placement.

With a pan of 230 degrees and a tilt of 57.3degrees, the I-Cue can convert any standard theatrical spotlight into an effective moving light. Color scrollers made by all the major manufacturers can be used with the I-Cue, allowing you to create spectacular moving-light, moving-color effects so popular in today's lighting designs.

X-Effects DMX Projector

This truly amazing projector provides large scale 3-D effects previously unavailable to lighting designers. The device utilizes a 200 watt Enhanced Metal Arc source, whose short arc allows for an output of 5K lumens, and a 7000 hour lamp life. The color temperature is similar to a Xenon source at 6000K but with nearly two times the luminous effectiveness (or efficacy), of a halogen source.

The effect itself is created by rotating two "X" size glass gobos off center of the optical path. This results in a projection that does not appear to have a visible direction or pattern. The color slot will accept dichroic color filters.

Lens trains are available in 30, 50 and 70-degree configurations. Due to the efficiency of the lamp and the design of the optics, all lenses have crisp edges, even for long throws of 100 feet or more.

The X-Effects Projector is available in two configurations. For theatrical entertainment lighting, specify the model with DMX on board. Using five DMX channels, the unit has full control of each effect gobo, lamp strike and light output. The DMX-controlled douser, also initiated through your lighting control board, directs not only the light output but blackouts and fades as well.

For such permanent installations as retail or museum display, or where DMX is not required, the original X-Effects Projector is a good choice. It includes onboard potentiometers to control the speed and direction of both gobos.
